MINAJ MINAJ MINAJ! Yes, Nicki Minaj people. I don't know what it is about her, but its something that has me drawn to her music everytime. Her uniqueness and her creativity is what has me in awe of her. Also her craft has me very interested because I have never seen anyone else that could rap the way she does. She is definetly different and isn't afraid to be herself which is what I love about her. She isn't the best role model but I could say that she really is talented. As of now she has the most album sales as a female rapper which is really impressive. The world seems to love her music and I really love it too. Her album is out now, and I am desperate to perchuse a copy! Something else to put on my Christmas list! ( :

Ignorance.
Well this issue has been on my mind alot because alot of people choose to use ignorance when it's really unneccessary. Like alot of people choose the wrong things to say, and they don't know what they are talking about. But they choose to say it anyways. For me, it had alot to do with the way I act and how I potray myself to others. Like as for me, I am a very timid person, friendly and I love making people smile. But to other people I don't act like how I should be acting. Recently, somebody called me "White Wash" according to my personality. If you don't know what that term means, it means that you act WHITE instead of BLACK. And to them, acting white means being educated and not being brawling and arrogant with your behaviour. That really gets to me bcause just because I am not loud , rude and all over the place doesn't mean im " White Wash". I really dispise that term because how can you act like a color? Black people has been degraded back then and just by using that term does not encourage what Martin Luther King has been fighting for this whole time. This ignorance needs to stop because if we keep saying these ignorant things, then as a black african canadian young adult, I will never be respected for who I am. The term "white wash" is so ignorant in so many ways, and its not just that there is many more that needs to be demolished. But I guess it just starts with me, stating that issue and it has to start with you, or there will be no end to ignorance.
"Truth is by nature self-evident. As soon as you remove the cobwebs of ignorance that surround it, it shines clear."

A Christmas Redemption.
So everyone knows, that Christmas is around the corner! Which is a time to spend with family, a time of happiness, giving and laughter. But for some, its a time to mourn, and time of stress or a time of frustration. This is what a Christmas Redemption potrays. Mrs. Kim Thomas created a magnificent play that shows 3 different families and thier lives around Christmas time. It shows different families from the wealthiest to the poor, and it shows behind the scenes of how their version the holidays really is for them. The play comes from a place of real, laughter and seriousness. I am really grateful to be apart of this production behind, and in front of the scenes. Just by watching the actors rehearse I could tell that they are giving their heart in every single scene with no dissapointment and they have found the essence of their character. The creator of A Christmas Redemption, Kim Thomas is amazing at what she does. By watching her direct alone in this play gives me the ultimate motivation and hope that if you just put your mind to a dream, it could happen. And I know that A Christmas Redemption is what she's being working on for a couple of years now, and finally with just patience and determination, it is coming to life. Kim Thomas is very hardworking, and she deserves every bit of what she has accomplished. I am truly blessed that she is my acting coach. Now the play is just around the corner which is on the 5th, 10th and the 11th of December at Misissauga Secondary School. So don't miss out to see this incredible production and miss the opportunity to see a variety of amazing & different talents. And at NO COST! So why not come?
The Accident.
A few weeks ago, my acting academy couch Mrs Thomas has assigned us an assignment to do a scripted scene written by professional writers and perform them in front of the class in a week. So we chose our partners and scenes and got down to work. The scene that me and my partner (Dane Smith) were intriged by was a scene called "The Accident". This scene is about a spoiled repeat offender who has suddenly become a killer. In this scene she is talking to her lawyer about getting out of jail. But her lawyer isn't having it this time. This lawyer is the type of lawyer that always had her back everyime she got into trouble. But now that there was an accident involved, he wants her locked up for good. This causes conflict and arguement and the girl now terrified that she might have to be in jail for a long time because she has killed a mother and daughter due to drunk driving. Intense story line right? So today is game time. Presentation day. And me and my partner was chosen to go first in our presentation. I was REALLY nervous and I was not ready to perform at all. Me and my partner hasn't had the rehearsing time that we really wanted so that made me lose confidence during my performance. So we perform and it wasn't good at all. Well on my part. I was not prepared, and I blew it. But all I have is myself to blame because I didn't mentally prepare myself to perform in front of the class. I should of been more aggressive with my partner so we could rehearse more. So after the performance I was heading for the constructive criticism, which we got and deserved. But it wasn't the outcome that I wanted at all, so all I could do was be dissapointed in myself; so I bursted out in tears. It's not me to not take a performance seriously, and for this performance I didn't take it seriously because I wasn't prepared. As good as the script was, our performance could of been way better that how we potrayed it too the class.

LOVE IS LOUDER.
Recently I have come across a Public Service Announcement which is entitled Love Is Louder and I find it very powerful and compelling. I wrote down the lyrics just to get a taste of what they are talking about:
LOVE is louder.
LOUDER.
LOVE is louder.
LOVE is louder than sexism
indifference.
than hatred.
LOVE is louder than homophobia.
threats.
bigotry.
doubt.
LOVE is louder.
LOVE is louder.
IS LOUDER.
IS LOUDER.
LOVE is louder than bullying.
than bullying.
than bullying.
LOVE is louder than anything.
THAN ANYTHING.
THAN ANYTHING.

Learning to adapt.
As I became apart of Soul Visionary Productions I was really excited to be around different diversities and personalities so I can later on clash with them and perform with them in different acting scenes and work with them in the business field. What I have learned previously is that most of the member that are apart of Soul Visionary Productions, were apart of a previous production company called Stage Life. I really don't know what that company was about because I wasn't apart of it, but I have seen their awareness shows and performances that they have created which have been outstanding. On the other hand, I feel that the company still does bring up Stage Life as if it still exists when it really doesn't. It makes me feel excluded sometimes from the group when they do talk about Stage Life because I was never apart of it, which is unfortunate but that is what the circumstances came up too. I feel that since Soul Visionaries has been created it is time to put Stage Life to a rest and move on to sometimes fresh and new. Yes, the memories will always be there, but as of September 2010, Stage Life has retired and since it has it is time to turn into a new chapter. Soul Visionary Productions is the beginning of my journey and I hope soon the rest of the production will leave the past and take the journey on with me to the future.
Seven DEADLY Sins/ Seven Heavenly Virtues.
SEVEN DEADLY SINS
Envy: the desire for others' traits, status, abilities, or situation.
Sloth: the avoidance of physical or spiritual work.
Gluttony: an inordinate desire to consume more than that which one requires.
Wrath: manifested in the individual who spurns love and opts instead for fury.
Pride: excessive belief in one's own abilities, that interferes with the individual's
recognition of the grace of God. It has been called the sin from which all others arise.
Lust: an inordinate craving for the pleasures of the body.
Greed: the desire for material wealth or gain, ignoring the realm of the spiritual
SEVEN HEAVENLY VIRTUES
Humility: Being Modest in Self. his virtue in its purest form is not self-hatred (a common mistake made by those with good intentions but self-esteem problems), but rather a sense of inner knowledge that one does not need to prove their greatness to the outside world to actually be great. Opposite of Pride.
Kindness: Being Good Towards All Life. Opposite of Envy.
Chastity: Being Unhindered by Worldly Desires. The ability to overcome temptation and show self-discipline. Note that the fulfillment of the virtue is not through lack of being tempted, but rather of making the conscious decision to better yourself rather than do what you know is morally wrong. Opposite of Lust.
Patience:Being Peaceful in a Goal. A willingness to forgive and show mercy. In the face of adversity they may hesitate, but in the end they will endorse stability, reject revenge, and accept the faults of others without prejudice. Opposite of Anger/Wrath.
Temperance:Being Controlled in Self. The moral decision slopes encountered through life are slippery, and it is easy to descend into unintended but well intentioned extremism. Opposite of Gluttony.
Diligence:Being Steadfast in Work. Despite the problems that surface, no matter what stands in their way, one with this virtue will accomplish their goals and stay true to their core beliefs. Opposite of Sloth.
Charity:Being Generous Towards Others. A willingness, or even desire, to help others and better the world, no matter the cost to your personal self. The path of a graceful and noble spirit. Opposite of Greed.
Vintage Scene.
As I explained in my older blog, I told you my experience in vintage shopping and the challenge. So we got our vintage items and we have to create a 'vintage' scene with the items that we have purchased. Therefore, what my quadrant has chosen to do was create an 80's scene and re-enact the hit television show Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air.
Yes, Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air. The greatest 90's show out there! We knew it was going to be difficult re-enacting the characters from the show but we were confident in playing these characters. Based on our personalities and whom we were comfortable on playing, I have chosen to play Hilary Banks. For those who don't know the character, Hilary Banks (played by Karyn Parsons on far left of image) is mainly the spoiled, snobby and ditzy member of the family. It was somewhat hard for me to adapt to her character because since everyone from Soul Visionary Productions knew who she was, it was more pressure on me to play her character correctly. But the day of presentations, I went and did the best that I could, but it wasn't really successful. My characterization was there but my showcase wasn't. Our quadrant tried our best to adapt to the character to the best of our abilities, but playing another character that everyone is so used to seeing is extremely difficult because you are signing yourself up for the audience to be really entertained. And when you don't have that IT factor, like the actual show, then your scene will become a bust. Therefore, our scene wasn't really what we planned but it was fun trying something new, and this vintage experience was really interesting, and I would never ask for anything better. The other scenes were amazing, and it got me to see all the different styles that the 60's and the 80's has had. It made me realize that fashion has been in our century for years and it changes more significantly every time. But overall the experience has taught me something, which Soul Visionary Productions teaches me something new everyday which I am grateful for.

But hopefully for Christmas or Boxing Day, ANYDAY soon I get a I <3 PINK sweater for the winter. If I really get one Ill be the happiest person ALIVE !
-GASP- that is all.

VINTAGE, VINTAGE, VINTAGE!
He said She said.
Gossip. Everybody does it. By why? Does it satisfy you? Is it the highlight of your day? For most of us it is, and that needs to change. Gossiping about others really doesn't make any sense because it really is just spreading news around that possibly isn't true. Then someone else spreads it to someone else and it escalades from there. From gossiping and spreading rumors, it causes more and more stress upon the victim who is being gossiped or talked about. Nowadays, people are getting cocky and arrogant saying that they everybody has haters and "haters hate" so they are encouraging them to speak their smack. But that is the most stupidest decision you could make. By encouraging somebody to speak smack about you it just causes them to do it more, and that just doesn't solve anything. Honestly what is the point of gossiping? To get your daily fix of the latest news?
Let's use Perez Hilton as an example. He is famous for spreading the latest gossip about celebrities and he also talks smack about them as well. He just annoys me because he has nothing better to do in his time other than talking about people behind a computer screen. But what if those celebrities weren't there? His career would be over. But another thing he doesn't know is that saying those negative comments about these celebrities really do hurt their feelings, and if it can hurt such high-status celebrities, it can hurt anybody. So is gossiping really worth it? Don't think so.

The untold story.

Amazing. That is the one word that crosses my mind when I think about this play. On November 3rd 2010 was the day I saw one of the best plays in my life; WICKED the untold story of the wizard of oz. The orchestra, the dancing, the singing, costume and everything else you could think of was just amazing. You could just tell when you watched it, that they have worked so hard to make that play such a success. I was really impressed beyond belief and Im glad that I was not dissapointed. Now I have such a whole different view on the movie The Wizard Of Oz now, and I feel that not everything is what it seems to be. You just get a whole different feel of how the Bad and the Good really was and what the true story was. Everything was planned out perfectly and I really do recommend this play for all those who wish to watch. It is truly worth it and I would watch it a million more times if I had the chance. The casting was great and everybody played each character perfectly. Nobody got out of character and they were truly in the moment when they were singing and acting as well. I was overwhelmed the most by the character Elphoba the bad witch's singing. It was remarkable and she hit every note with ease. Wicked is truly amazing and watching the play with Soul Visionary Productions was great. I wouldn't trade that day for the world.

Time to make a change.

This morning I got a touching testimony from my Acting Academy teacher Mrs. Thomas about giving back to your community and being a humanitarian when you are older or even starting now. She was explaining that we shouldn't wait on others to change the world for you, when the power is mainly in in your hands. She also explained that now in our society, most of us don't give back because we don't even have it for ourselves. Not every family has enough money to go out for dinner, spend a night out to watch a movie or bad enough eat for the night. So us as our youth today have to make a change.
We have to take the initiave in wanting to learn. We have to take the initiative in wanting to help our community. We have to start now, because if we don't, then who will? Like Mrs. Thomas explained, she said that The icon Oprah Winfrey is known for giving back to the world and this is because of her riches which helps alot and her humble spirit. But everyone seems to always depend on her to help. But eventually Oprah will not be there to save the world. She will not be there to pick up the scraps. So I feel that its our job to step up to the plate and take care of each other and what we are looking forward too. Unity is power, and it us up to you.
Note to God.
This song really touches me. One of my favourite songs. It's originally by Jojo but Charice P made a version and their both GREAT. I just wanted to post the lyrics to get a taste of how compelling the song is.

If I wrote a note to God
I would speak what's in my soul
I'd ask for all the hate to be swept away and for love to overflow
If I wrote a note to God
I pour my heart out on each page
Id ask for wars to end and for peace to mend this world
I'd say I'd say I'd say
Give us the strength to make it through
Help us find love cause love is overdue
And it looks like we haven't got a clue
Need some help from You
Grant us the faith to carry on
Give us hope when it seems our hope is gone
Cause it seems like so much is going wrong
On this road we're on
If I wrote a note to God
I would say what's on my mind
I'd ask for wisdom to let compassion rule this world
Until these times
If I wrote a note to God
I'd say please help us find our way
And all the bitterness put some tenderness in our hearts
And I'd say I'd say I'd say
Give us the strength to make it through
Help us find love cause love is overdue
And it looks like we haven't got a clue
Need some help from You
Grant us the faith to carry on
Give us hope when it seems our hope is gone
Cause it seems like so much is going wrong
On this road we're on
No no no no we can't do it on our own
So so
Give us the strength to make it through
Help us find love cause love is overdue
And it looks like we haven't got a clue
Need some help from You
Grant us the faith to carry on
Give us hope when it seems all hope is gone
Cause it seems like so much is going wrong
On this road we're on
If I wrote a note to God...

The simpliest things can teach you so much.

On America’s Next Top Model it displays how the contenders who talk back to the professionals get cut first. So just take criticism with pride, grasp it and use it to become better. Nobody in the industry wants to work with somebody that is hard to work with. One of the most important points is most important is to be on time. As Tyra Banks emphasizes on the show, she mentions to never be late. On the show, Tyra Banks creates challenges for the contenders on the show to go out on go-sees. She gives them a limited amount of time to go and come back at a designated area and if they are late they are automatically disqualified, no excuses. It is extremely important to be on time in the acting or modelling business because time is money. If you are casted for something and you are always late you are costing the director time and money. So if anything, come 15 minutes early, and prepare yourself so you are relaxed and ready for your audition with an open mind. Another important factor is to do your research. On ANTM a lot of the ladies when questioned about professional models, and they are clueless as to who they are. Whether it is the acting or modelling industry you need to educate yourself. When auditioning for a director, do your research. Learn about their previous work they have directed, watch their films and go online and research. By knowing more about them you can show an impression and you will know what they like when it comes to character types. You have to know who you are meeting and the work they have done. By showing them respect and a positive attitude you will definitely learn something.
Tips to succeed in the industry.
This book that I am reading right now is called Acting Professionally ‘Raw facts about careers in acting’ by Robert Cohen. I really do recommend this book to all aspiring actors because it really gives you knowledge and tips on how to succeed and what you should expect in the acting industry. In this book it tells you many things, like how to act during an audition, how to take your headshots, the difference between acting on film and in the theatre, establishing yourself, what you will need, and much more.
What caught me the most so far is the chapter called your first decisions and what caught me the most was a section called ‘who are you?. In this section of the book explains that before an audition you must establish you who are as an actor and establish yourself as a person most importantly. If you really don’t know your own status and you haven’t defined yourself, then what is the point? It is an actor’s biggest task to define themselves because not all of us know right away who we really are and what we stand for. Ron Shurma a casting director says “Actors have to know who they are. Whatever that is, bring only that choice into the audition. Discover who you are in life, and bring that in.”
That quote really got to me because as an actor personally, I really don’t know who I am yet and I am still trying to figure out. By facing many different experiences in the acting field, it is a learning experience for me and I am still figuring out why acting is my calling in life. I love acting but I still need to figure out why am I acting? Why do I love it so much? And why do I even consider myself as an actor? Now by being a part of Soul Visionary Productions it gives me the chance and the opportunity to grasp on to new things about theatre and adapt them into my acting skills so I can do better. Also it gives me the chance to find out who I am as an aspiring actor and why I chose the path that I am choosing today.

Still I Rise.
My favourite peom of all time from the fabulous
and ever so graceful Maya Angelou.
You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I'll rise.
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I'll rise.
Does my sassiness upset you?
Why are you beset with gloom?
'Cause I walk like I've got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.
Why are you beset with gloom?
'Cause I walk like I've got oil wells
Pumping in my living room.
Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I'll rise.
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I'll rise.
Did you want to see me broken?
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops,
Weakened by my soulful cries.
Bowed head and lowered eyes?
Shoulders falling down like teardrops,
Weakened by my soulful cries.
Does my haughtiness offend you?
Don't you take it awful hard
'Cause I laugh like I got gold mines
Diggin' in my own back yard.
Don't you take it awful hard
'Cause I laugh like I got gold mines
Diggin' in my own back yard.
You may shoot me with your words,
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I'll rise.
You may cut me with your eyes,
You may kill me with your hatefulness,
But still, like air, I'll rise.
Does my sexiness upset you?
Does it come as a surprise
That I dance like I've got diamonds
At the meeting of my thighs?
Does it come as a surprise
That I dance like I've got diamonds
At the meeting of my thighs?
Out of the huts of history's shame
I rise
Up from a past that's rooted in pain
I rise
I'm a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.
I rise
Up from a past that's rooted in pain
I rise
I'm a black ocean, leaping and wide,
Welling and swelling I bear in the tide.
Leaving behind nights of terror and fear
I rise
Into a daybreak that's wondrously clear
I rise
Bringing the gifts my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.
I rise
I rise
I rise.
I rise
Into a daybreak that's wondrously clear
I rise
Bringing the gifts my ancestors gave,
I am the dream and the hope of the slave.
I rise
I rise
I rise.
The Industry's Finest.
Denzel Washington, Sandra Bullock, Halle Berry, Jaime Foxx, Meryl Streep, Forest Whitaker, Will Smith, Cuba Gooding Jr., and the list does go on. These are just some of the most iconic actors and actresses that I am extremely lucky to witness on film. Well what is an iconic actor? In my opinion, an iconic actor is somebody who takes risks with their character, somebody who steps out of their comfort zones and takes control of the set or stage. These iconic stars do all those things. They take control of their character and they are in the moment which they do not unravel from. To be an iconic actor you have to have the persona in a film to make it look like you are not necessarily acting but you are what you are representing in the film. If I believe that you are that character and it doesn’t even look like acting; it is brilliant. Like for example, Jamie Foxx in the movie “Ray” he is representing the late Ray Charles who was a great musician but had a hard life, from losing his vision and brother at a young age, and fighting the use of drugs. The thing that makes Jaime Foxx an iconic actor is because in that film, I believed that he WAS Ray Charles. Just by the way he studied Ray Charles himself, the way he carried himself and the way he acted was perfected. Not only Jaime Foxx, but there the numerous amount of actors and actresses that I have mentioned before do the exact same thing but the bar is raised even higher. To become an iconic actor it comes with complete hard work. It comes with sleepless nights, studying, tough criticism and finding the essence of yourself as an actor. It may be a struggle to get there but if you are passionate and willing to put in the work become a Denzel Washington or a Meryl Streep then your time will come. Your Destiny lies in your hands.

Million Dollar Baby.

One of the best movies I have seen in awhile. I have recently been assigned to watch a movie that had Morgan Freeman starring in it and I chose to watch Million Dollar Baby. I couldn't of chosen a better movie to watch. This movie starring Clint Eastwood, Hilary Swank and Morgan Freeman shows their acting abilities to a whole new light. Their acting was perfection. Hilary Swank showed passion and never gave up on her character the whole movie. I believed that boxing was her only desire and that is what she loved. Just by watching the movie I knew that she gave it her all to perfect that character and to carry that whole persona correctly which she did perfectly. Clint Eastwood was amazing too because she showed commitment. His character was a strict character that never game up on the game. He was committed to his character because while I was watching the movie he was determind and willing to make his boxer the best she can be. Morgan Freeman was undescribeable in this movie as well because he never gave up on his character. I was never bored or not amused by this movie at all. I recommend this movie to anybody that hasn't see it because it is truly remarkable.
ME + MY OTHER HALF
Yes I have to talk about her. My other half, my amiga, my twin sister Tanisha Teape. This girl is amazing. She is mainly one of the best people that is in my life right now. We are extremely close and I don't know what I would do without her. When she cries, I cry. When I laugh she laughs. When shes mad Im mad. It's just that unbreakable bond that we just have that nobody can interfere with. I am just extremely blessed that she is in my life because I can't imagine anybody else taking her place as my younger twin sister. I know sometimes sisters aruge or fight but we barely do, and if we do it doesn't even last a day because we can't stay mad at each other for that long. Tanisha is a very humble individual whos smile never dissapears. We have jokes that nobody understands and a friendship that nobody can describe. She is not only my sister but she is my best friend. I love her to death.
Happy Thanksgiving !

Well, today s thanksgiving and it is the day to EAT TILL YOU DROP! But most important today is the day to give thanks. Today is the day to thank God for everything that he has done for you, and to give thanks that your are living, PERIOD. Personally I would like to give God thanks for being ALIVE, breathing and healthy. Also, I would like to thank him for my amazing family and their ultimate love and support. Most importantly I would like to thank my parents because they have done sooo much for me just to have a great life and a wonderful living. I take their hardwork and dedication into consideration and I thank them dearly. I would like to thank God for blessing me with amazing friends that are always there for me no matter what. And not only today should you give thanks to God, but you should thank the ALMIGHTY everyday for all he has done for you. Not everybody has the opportunities that I have, or the chance to spend quality time with their familes. So I thank God everyday because without him, I wouldn't be where I am today.
So today I give thanks and I mean it from the bottom of my heart.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYBODY!

What do I want to do before my TIME IS UP ?
Well before I reach my passing I would like to accomplish alot of things, but there is mainly 10 things so far that I would LOOOOOOOOOOOVE to do before my life is over. If I do accomplish these things, I feel that my life will be complete.
And if I put my mind into it, I know at one point in my life, it will be done.
1. Fall in love & marry the man of my dreams.
2. Swim with Dolphins.

Presenting 2010's Cycle 6... SOUL VISIONARY PRODUCTIONS!
PreBranding
In the beginning of the process, I didn't even know what Branding was, what it was about, and what it consists of. I knew that my fellow group members were aware of Branding from the previous years because they were apart of the amazing Stage Life Production Company
for 2 years in a row. I really enjoyed the process of building our company because it really taught me how to work with a group and accomplish so many things with a short amount of time. Also, it was a competition as well so it strived me even more to try and make our company more intriguing than the other company. Also being apart of the branding experience made me get a taste of the buissness world because I never got to see that before. With creating a playbill, newsletter, menu, website and lookbook for our fashion magazine. But overall it was an amazing experience and I couldn't ask for better group members. We worked together as a team which got everything finished successfully.
Post-Branding
The Day of Branding : September 27th 2010. The very first time I had to win the hearts of professionals to choose our company ' Soul Visionary Productions'. That day I was really nervous because this was the very first time that I have ever done an extreme presentation and was around such high status professionals. But as the ambiance was set and the moderators were speaking, I realized that being nervous will bring me anywhere. So I threw my nervousness away and just starting being myself. The branding day was amazing because everything ran smoothly and just the way we wanted everything to be. I really enjoyed the fact that I was acknowledged by the ilumnai from the pervious years and the professional buisness guests that came along because not that much people can get that opportunity. Overall, the Branding presentation was amazing and for my first experience, it was best experience.
& on that note...
WE DID IT ! After our hard work, everything has finally paid off! SOUL VISIONARY PRODUCTIONS IS A GO! I would love to thank all the ladies that made this possible: Ashani Jodha, Monique Pitt, Krystle Grange, Sharisa Munshaw, Rochelle Erkskine, Sophia Nguygen, Jenisha Palmer, Larisa Rudder, Jasleen Batth, Kandice Smith and Ramona Persuad. Without you ladies, I wouldn't of even known about Branding a production at all, God Bless you guys and I love you ladies with all my heart.
So You Think You Can Dance Canada .
Woooow, what an amazing trip we have just had recently. I just started my blog so I haven't got to pour out my thoughts on what happend. But to sum it up in one word, I would say that it was seriously, abosolutely AMAAAAAAAAAAAZINNNNNG. Before we went on the trip my amazing acting teacher Mrs. Kim Thomas has proposed to us an assignment to do during the trip. She told us that we had to become a character totally different from our personalities, andwhen we get to the show become that character almost the whole time. In my mind I was like "WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!" How am I going to stick to a character the whole time?!"
But she said that it helps you know more about method acting, which I really wanted to know more about. So the characters that she chose for us was to be overly friendly, a groupie of either a dancer judge, claustrpphobic, a security guard, a casting directior or scout, a manager, a dancer or last but not least, a celebrity. This was very funny to me but yet serious because I was wondering if our class could really pull it off. So the character I chose was overly friendly, meaning that I was happy about EVERYTHING.
When we got to the So You Think You Can Dance studio, that's when our class wasn't afraid to establish into their character. We have already gotten the stares and looks but our class still didn't break out of character which was great. We almost even got kicked out of the studio for our behaviour because our character that we were playing was way too extreme. What I thought was really intersting was the fact that the public BELIEVED everything that we were doing. It's not about fooling them, and causing them to be really gullible, but it was the fact that since we BELIEVED that we were that character, the public believed it as well.
So, in the end the trip was AMAZING, the dancers were INCREDIBLE and I can't wait to go back.
Maybe we can unpack another method acting assignment soon!
The Essence Of an Actor.
How do you grasp the essence of the actor?
This question has been pondering in my mind for the longest time. But now I have realized to catch the essence of the actor. The essence of an actor not only defines you as a character, but it defines mainly everything about you. By knowing the essence of the actor it mainly means the root as to who you are. By showing your inner being, on stage or in an audition, you are showing anything that makes you stand out as an actor. Whether it could be your movement, voice, appearance or your whole demenor. So finding the essence of the actor is extremly important because it defines you as a performer. It defines how you are ,on stage and how the audience see you as . As of now I'm still finding my essence as an actor and I really do hope to figure that out soon, so I can showcase that to the best of my ability on stage.
This is real,THIS IS ME.

BUUUUUUUUT , the real reason as to why I took this acting academy course is because I feel that this is my CALLING. By me saying that I feel, that God has really placed me in this course for a reason. And it is my destiny to reveal that to the world. Also, I feel that being in the acting academy course will get me more educated for the future career that I would like to pursue, which is being an Acting Teacher. I am really passionate about becoming an acting teacher because I would really love to teach aspiring actors to express themselves and reach their fullest potential.
So there you have it !
MAYA JONES, coming at you and doing BIG THINGS SOOON !
Look out for me ! ( :
SOOO THAT'S ME.
